Dominique Vien is the projected winner of the Bellechasse—Les Etchemins—Lévis riding.
Bellechasse—Les Etchemins—Lévis is located between Quebec City and the Canada-U.S. border.
Conservative MP Steven Blaney has represented the riding in the House of Commons since 2006 when he defeated Bloc Québécois incumbent, Réal Lapierre.
Blaney was Canada’s minister of public safety (2011-13), minister of veterans affairs, and minister of state for La Francophonie (2011-13) under the Harper government.
He announced in July on his Facebook page that he would not be seeking re-election.
Bellechasse—Les Etchemins—Lévis is Quebec’s most populous riding, according to the latest census, with a population of 114,966.
