In late June, a man in west-central Saskatchewan died after contracting the virus.
A woman also died in late June in the same region.
Officials believe those deaths are not related.
Hantavirus is rare and potentially fatal.
It is caused by exposure to airborne particles from the droppings or urine of infected rodents such as deer mice.
People can be exposed when sweeping or vacuuming out buildings such as cottages and sheds.
