Two people were taken to hospital following a collision involving a van and a Peterborough Transit bus on Wednesday morning.
The collision occurred around 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Sir Sandford Fleming Drive and Airport Road in the city’s west end.
The van struck the mid-portion of the driver’s side of the bus.
According to the Peterborough Police Service in a statement issued at 11:30 a.m., there were no passengers aboard the bus at the time of the collision.
Both drivers were transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre with minor injuries, police said.
The 42-year-old male driver of the van was charged with failure to stop at a red light and insecure load, both charges are under the Highway Traffic Act.
The man’s name was not released.
A section of Airport Road south of Brealey Drive was closed as police investigated the collision.
