Four-foot-long python on the loose in North Vancouver

North Vancouver RCMP responded to a home this afternoon after a woman said there was a python loose in her house.

The four foot-long  ball python belongs to her basement suite tenant and had somehow gotten loose in the home on Purcell Way.

The snake is not considered to be dangerous to people. It is not prohibited to keep as a pet in B.C.

A police officer and animal health officer from the District of North Vancouver have so far been unable to locate the snake.

Conservation is on the way and police remain on the scene.
