The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) say their stay on scene at a home on McGee Street may extend into the evening.
Police first advised the media a warrant was being executed at a residence in the 600 block at 12:40 p.m. Saturday.
The WPS is taking a number of precautions including the use of its Tactical Support Team and Armoured Rescue Vehicle due to the belief a firearm may be present at the home.
Officers ask everyone to avoid the area and anyone who lives in the area to listen to any direction given by officers.
