Two people are dead after a severe crash near Kamloops on Monday morning.
RCMP said the eastbound lanes of the Trans Canada Highway in Valleyview were closed because of the collision, which happened just before 10 a.m. near Grand Boulevard.
“When police arrived on scene, they observed a green Toyota 4-Runner in the eastbound ditch and a jack-knifed semi trailer further down the highway,” Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a news release.
“Two of the Toyota’s four occupants were deceased when police arrived,” she added.
The other two people were rushed to hospital with unknown injuries, Evelyn said.
Police said they are still investigating the crash but believe weather to be a factor.
Anyone with dash camera footage featuring the Toyota 4Runner during or near the time of the crash is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
