A man has died after he was stabbed in the upper body in the neighbourhood of Verdun early Monday morning.
Montreal police spokesperson Raphael Bergeron says the 38-year-old victim was taken to hospital in critical condition. He died from his injuries.

Police officers responded to a call shortly before 3 a.m. about an incident on LaSalle Boulevard near Troy Street.
The investigation into the man’s death has been transferred to the major crimes division. It is considered the fourth homicide of the year on Montreal police territory.
Bergeron says there is no new information concerning a possible suspect or suspects at this time.
