A community search for a missing Port Moody, B.C., woman is winding down, but police continue to actively investigate her disappearance.
Trina Hunt, 48, was last seen at her home in the Heritage Mountain neighbourhood on Jan. 18.
Hunt’s family and friends said this is out of character for her to disappear.
Community members organized a large search party to scour the area, but in a statement Thursday Hunt’s family said those efforts were being suspended.
“At this time, the community ground search is on hold and the volunteer command centre will wrap up this evening,” the statement said.
“(We) would like to thank community members of Port Moody and Beyond for supporting us in our search to find Trina. Our family has been overwhelmed with gratitude for the countless hours spend searching Heritage Mountain by hundreds of volunteers.”
The family said they were continuing to work with police to try and locate Hunt.
Police are asking for any video shot in the area of Heritage Mountain on Jan. 18 between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Hunt is five-feet-four-inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. She is believed to be wearing a puffy black Northface jacket with a teal green collar and purple shoes.
