Enrico Colantoni scrubs up for ‘Remedy’

TORONTO – Canadian actor Enrico Colantoni is trading in his police rifle for a scalpel.

The former Flashpoint star will play Dr. Allan Conner, acting chief of staff at Broadview Hospital, in the new Global series Remedy.

Shaw Media (parent company of Global News) announced Tuesday the casting of Colantoni, whose credits also include the sitcom Just Shoot Me!.

He recently portrayed Gianni Versace in the Montreal-shot TV movie House of Versace and wrapped work on the Veronica Mars movie, in which he reprised his role as Keith Mars.

The 50-year-old actor was born in Toronto, where he currently lives with wife Rosanna.

Remedy is a complex and funny world with rich characters and relationships,” said Enrico Colantoni, in a release. “I’m a happy guy.”

Production of Remedy is scheduled to begin Sept. 30 in Toronto.
