EDMONTON – Twenty-eight year-old Cameron Skidmore is facing 14 charges, including weapons offences and criminal flight, after police pursuits Tuesday afternoon.

Police say Southwest Division Patrol members were called to a weapons complaint around 3 p.m. Tuesday. A witness reported seeing a man point a handgun out his vehicle window near 109 Street and 68 Avenue.

Police officers found the vehicle heading east on Whyte Avenue near 105 Street. They used members of the Canine Unit and tried to corner the suspect vehicle.

Police say the suspect took off; sparking two, back-to-back pursuits. Officers had to stop pursuing the suspect out of concern for public safety.

Skidmore allegedly robbed a liquor store near 82 Avenue and 75 Street before police found him again and followed him to the Capilano Bridge.
