Nicole lives by the saying, “Good things come in small packages”. That’s mostly because she barely reaches 5'1 and if height were a measure of success, she wouldn’t be going anywhere!

Luckily, what Nicole lacks vertically she makes up in personality. She’s always been known as the loudest and most opinionated of her friends… willing to strike-up a conversation about almost-anything. That’s what got her interested in news.

Nicole is from the community of Beaumont just outside of Edmonton, Alberta. She loved growing up in a small-town but after high school, felt the need to see the rest of the world. She figured, what better a way, than through a career in broadcasting.

Nicole enrolled in the Radio and Television program at NAIT. During the program she scored a part-time gig at Global Edmonton, both editing and writing. Reporting had always been her passion so after finishing her practicum reporting at CHAT in Medicine Hat… she began searching for a job. An opportunity opened at CHCA (formerly known as CH) News, as an Editor. She took the position hoping to get her “foot-in-the-door” and luckily, it’s paid off.

Over her time at the station, Nicole has been promoted from Editor to Photographer and finally, from Photographer to Video Journalist; A position where she’s able to both, write and report… occasionally keeping-up on her shooting and editing skills.

Nicole loves working in Red Deer and is excited for CHCA viewers to see her “on-air” side.

On her down-time you can find Nicole lounging around any ol' coffee shop, pedaling her bike around town or snowboarding in the mountains
