Kristen was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. After earning her Bachelors' Degree in Geography from UBC, Kristen spent several years as an unemployed actor before enrolling in BCIT's journalism program in 2000 – and finding her true calling, news.
Kristen started her journalism career in Chilliwack, reporting for Star FM Radio. She then reported for BCTV News on Global in Vancouver, before moving to Vancouver Island to take over the CHEK News Nanaimo Bureau (then CH). After two years in the harbour city, Kristen moved south and is now a full-time reporter in Victoria.
When she's not working, Kristen enjoys reading, travelling and hanging out with her golden retriever, Spacey, who is also a newshound and avid movie buff.
