FORT FRANCES, Ont. – The body of a swimmer who went missing in the Rainy River in northern Ontario this week has been found.

Provincial police say a dive team recovered the body of 27-year old Odane Orville White of Toronto just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Police says he was found in the river about just south of the public docks in the community of Emo, about 35 kilometres west of Fort Frances.

White and another man were trying to swim a length of the river on Sunday night when they ran into trouble.

The other man returned safely to shore.

A port mortem examination is being scheduled.
