“It will feature local performers, it will be like a mini festival,” explains Peter Jurisic, chair of Alberta Flood Aid. “This was only an idea 10 days ago, look how far we have come so far.”
All ticket proceeds will benefit the Calgary Foundation’s Flood Rebuilding Fund, which supports the province’s long-term rebuilding efforts, including the hardest hit areas of High River, Canmore and nearby First Nation reserves.
Arden, who hails from the Calgary area, says she got numerous calls from around the music industry when the flood hit.
“It was like a war zone in Bragg Creek, there was a tree skewered through my friend’s log house sideways,” she recalls. “I was like, what kind of force does it take to do that?
“I got out there and started crying my head off.”
Tickets for the event start at $30 and will go on sale Friday, July 19th through Ticketmaster.
Ticketmaster has agreed to waive all service fees normally associated with ticket sales.
