Memorial for Cory Monteith grows outside Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel

It is an emotional scene outside the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver today.

Flowers and messages of condolence are being left on the doorstep of the hotel, where the body of Hollywood actor Cory Monteith was found on Saturday.

The 31-year-old actor, best known for his starring role on the TV show Glee, was found in the hotel after his room was searched when he failed to check out of the hotel.

No foul play is suspected, but the cause of death is still unknown.

Today, fans were dropping by the hotel to leave flowers, teddy bears and cards for the late actor and his family.

Clearly distraught and fighting back tears, Cory Monteith’s cousin Richard arrived at the scene to drop off a bouquet of flowers earlier this afternoon.

He was too upset to talk for long, but did stop for a few moments before leaving saying he last saw Cory just a couple of months ago.

He says he has not had a chance to talk to Cory’s mother yet because her phone has been flooded with calls.

He also says Cory’s father, who lives in New Brunswick, is planning to fly out to Vancouver today to be with the family.
