‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith struggled with addiction before tragic death

Celebrities and fans are mourning the death of Glee star Cory Monteith Sunday after the 31-year-old actor was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room.

Sources have told Global News the Calgary-born, Victoria-raised actor may have died of an overdose, but the coroners have not confirmed the cause of death.

Monteith, best known for his role as Finn Hudson on Glee, was public about his struggle with addiction, most recently admitting himself to rehab in April, according to reports.

This was not his first time seeking help and he regularly discussed his battles with addiction, saying in past interviews he took “anything and everything” and was “lucky to be alive.”
