A 67-year-old woman has died after being found unconscious in Westmount early Sunday.

Montreal police (SPVM) were called to the scene at around 2 a.m. after passersby reportedly found the woman on the ground on Ste-Catherine Street between Atwater and Wood avenues.

According to SPVM spokesperson Const. Caroline Chèvrefils, she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition as of Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon, Chèvrefils said, she had died of her injuries.

So far, Chèvrefils said that the investigation into the incident “is showing the woman was implicated in a collision with a vehicle.”

Chèvrefils added that late Sunday evening, investigators met with someone she described “an important witness.”
