PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – The driver was pronounced dead and a passenger was in serious condition after a crash in Prince Albert on Sunday morning.
Around 2:30 a.m., Prince Albert emergency services responded to the intersection of 28th Street and 12th Avenue East for a serious vehicle collision.
At the scene police located a car with two females in it.
Parkland Ambulance paramedics say a 21-year-old female was declared dead at the scene.
Paramedics also cared for a 17-year-old female who was taken to Victoria Hospital. She has since been transferred to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon in serious condition.
Police say a second vehicle was involved and a 21-year-old man is in custody with charges pending.
Accident reconstruction personnel and a forensic identification team are assisting with the investigation. PA police have requested that motorists stay away from the area until investigators have cleared the scene.
