CALGARY- Police are investigating an alleged kidnapping and sexual assault, after a woman said she escaped from a home where she has been held for weeks.
Police were called to the northeast community of Skyview Ranch on Wednesday afternoon. They say a woman somehow managed to escape from a home, and was extremely distraught.

She told investigators she had been held in the home for three weeks, and has since been taken to hospital.

One man has been taken into custody.
Police say they believe the man and woman are known to each other.
The Sex Crimes Unit along with several major crimes units are now investigating.
