Few details were released, but police said officers were at the scene near 8598 Hwy. 2 in Great Village.

Nova Scotia RCMP did not believe anyone else was in the home, and it’s still unknown whether the man was armed.

At 8:50 p.m., RCMP tweeted that police had the person in custody.

“He is being checked by medics. Everyone is OK,” police said.

Great Village is located about 30 kilometres west of Truro.

More to come.
