TORONTO – A concert by Phish – the band’s first in Toronto in 13 years – was postponed late Tuesday in the wake of Monday’s flooding.

The show at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre was still a go this afternoon, with the U.S. band tweeting: “Travel will be slower than usual – account for extra time to get to the venue.”

But shortly after 7 p.m. the group announced the concert was postponed “due to insurmountable transportation and public safety issues.”

According to a statement on the Phish website: “Everyone involved worked tirelessly throughout the day and exhausted all options, but ultimately, public safety had to come first. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The concert has been rescheduled for July 22, one night after the band’s Chicago stop, and tickets for Tuesday’s concert will be honoured at that time.
