Well team Canada isn’t looking like a team that will “own the podium” either. Let’s give credit where it’s due first off, Ryan Miller played a spectacular game for team USA, Canada had chances and he shut the door everytime, so glad he’s my goalie in my fantasy draft! Team Canada has struggled on the backend the last few games, and Marty Brodeur was not as solid as he usually is, especially playing the puck. It can’t be put on one guy though, the defense was not there for Canada, at all. The Americans played faster and harder, when you get an open netter being behind a defenseman and just working for the puck, well that doesn’t lend itself to “wanting it more” for Canada. They seemed to only wake up with just over 5 minutes left in the third period, where was that sense of ergency to start the third? They should’ve come out hard, fast and aggresive, but they seemed tired, slow and nonchalant. Stay out of the box, play harder and stop passing through the middle, when they started making short crisp passes to each other they looked like the team we all expected them to be but then they got away from it and it showed. Now if any team can go the long hard route to get to a gold medal game it’s the Canadians, let’s hope this last game actually maybe the last 2 are the wake up call they needed to awaken the “monster”. GO CANADA
