Fort Saskatchewan RCMP responded to a fatal collision Sunday morning on Highway 15 near Range Road 191.

The RCMP were called to the head-on collision at around 7:05 a.m.

Police said a semi-truck was heading east on Highway 15 when a westbound motorcycle crossed the centre line, resulting in a head-on collision.

RCMP said the 47-year-old man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured, according to police.

Traffic along Highway 15 was rerouted to Range Road 191 and Highway 834.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing, but RCMP said weather and road conditions were not a factor in the collision. Police do not anticipate that charges will be laid.
