Halloween may be nearing its end for another year, but Saskatchewan residents do not have to look very far to be spooked all year round.
At Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina, some staff members refuse to work on certain floors of the 70 year old building. There are reports of apparitions, unusual noises and rattling chandeliers.
It may seem more like a movie, but for Jody Sutherland, who is the head bartender at the hotel, the stories are strange, but true.
“One night (a guest) woke up in the middle of the night and noticed a lady standing in a white dress standing over her bed and every night that she went to bed it was the same,” Sutherland explained.
Psychic Robyn Carissa says one abandoned Regina chapel, St. Chad’s, definitely has at least one guest who does not plan on leaving.
“There’s not a lot,” Carissa said, “but there is one woman who’s walking around in here.”
Carissa says a lot of odd occurrences take place at the old church.
“Some of the things that have been reported are the piano and organ playing by themselves, hearing singing and seeing shadows,” she explained.
Also in Regina is Government House, which is believed to house several ghosts.
One of the most interesting is the ghost train in St. Louis. Late at night, there have been reports of phantom lights on the dirt road where the train tracks used to be. They can be seen almost every night. Curious onlookers have flocked to the area for over 30 years.
