RCMP identify woman’s body found in Petitcodiac River

HALIFAX – Police have identified the body of a woman found in the Petitcodiac River over the weekend.

Codiac RCMP said the body of Tiffany Mertin was found near the causeway bridge, in Riverview, on Sunday.

RCMP, Ambulance NB and fire departments from Riverview, Dieppe and Moncton were called to the area at about 11:00 a.m.

Mertin was reported missing on July 5.

The cause of her death is not yet known. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on Monday.
