A statue honouring the Father of Medicare was unveiled Friday in Weyburn.
The late Tommy Douglas, also dubbed the Greatest Canadian, was represented by his grandson, actor Kiefer Sutherland.
In a statement, Douglas’ daughter Shirley said the statue is a great honour for their family.
Douglas represented the Weyburn constituency when he was Saskatchewan’s premier, and he was responsible for introducing free health care to Canada.
