Entertainment Tonight with Mary Hart and Mark Steines is the world’s most-watched entertainment news program. It airs weeknights at 7.30 PM, and repeats Monday through Thursday nights at midnight, right after News Hour Final. ET Weekend airs Sunday night at 1.00 AM.

Global Edmonton (or CITV, our official call letters) is also available on various other cable and satellite systems around the world.

Global Edmonton originally hit the airwaves as ITV. The station was established in 1973 by Edmonton surgeon-turned-businessman, Dr. Charles Allard. ITV was defined as an independent television station, created by individuals with fresh, new ideas. ITV signed on in September 1974 with a schedule of bold and progressive programming.

On September 4, 2000, the Global Television Network welcomed ITV into its national broadcast entity, fulfilling founder Israel Asper’s dream of creating a national television network. The legendary ITV brand was retired.

Today, Global Edmonton leads the market with 39 hours of award-winning local news programming each week.

In June 2007, Global Edmonton revolutionized Edmonton’s television news coverage, by unveiling Global 1, the city’s first and only television news helicopter.

In November 2007, Global Edmonton also became a member of one of the world’s most popular websites, Facebook. Viewers are now able to declare themselves as a “Facebook Fan” of the station.
