The jury for the coroner’s inquest into a fatal police shooting has recommended all BC RCMP vehicles be equipped with dashboard video cameras.
The inquest is being held to look into the 2011 death of Adam Purdie, who was shot 17 times after aiming a rifle at an officer.
The only video of the incident was from an officer’s personal video camera attached to his cruiser’s dashboard.
The jury is also recommending RCMP officers making traffic stops should not approach vehicles until all information from the license plate has been verified.
