TORONTO — Actors Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell will tie the knot now that the U.S. Supreme Court has struck down the Defence of Marriage Act and ruled that California’s Prop. 8 is unconstitutional.

Shortly after the decisions were announced, Bell tweeted to Shepard: “Will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove”

Shepard’s response via Twitter? “F**k Yes!!!!!!!!!!”

He added: “Let’s bring my big, gay marriage to [Bell] to Life!!!!”

The couple, engaged since 2010, had publicly vowed not to exchange vows until everyone in California had the right to wed.

“We’ve been very vocal about not wanting to be married in a state that doesn’t allow that right to all of its citizens,” Bell said in an interview last year. “We’ll wait until California gets on the right side of history.”

Bell, 32, and Shepard, 38, welcomed a baby girl, Lincoln, in March.

Wednesday’s Supreme Court rulings also inspired singer Melissa Etheridge to marry her partner, producer Linda Wallem.

“I look forward to exercising my American civil liberties,” she tweeted, “and getting fully, completely and legally married this year to my true love of over three years.”
