REGINA – The Saskatchewan Water Security Agency says inflows on the South Saskatchewan River into Lake Diefenbaker are expected to be the highest ever recorded.

The agency says it means it’s going to have to let more water out of the Lake Diefenbaker reservoir.

The agency expects more than 6-thousand cubic metres per second will arrive on the river — far surpassing typical flows of about 500 cubic metres per second.

The Water Security Agency has to make space in Lake Diefenbaker because so much water is expected to come from Alberta.
