TORONTO – Yet another person has been arrested in connection with last week’s raids in northwest Etobicoke.
The raids were part of an investigation dubbed Project Traveller, and saw the combined efforts of police forces in Toronto, Halton, Peel, York, Durham, Guelph and Windsor.
Police arrested more than 28 people, seized dozens of weapons, $3 million in drugs and approximately $572,000 in cash.
But police were still looking for more suspects and had anticipated more arrests.
On Thursday, police announced the arrest of 21-year-old Paul Smith-Bonnick. He was arrested on Tuesday and charged with several offences including trafficking in restricted firearms and four counts of importing or exporting a restricted firearm.
Police say eight suspects remain at large. They also refuse to name any of the suspects until they are arrested.
The Project Traveller raids focused on an apartment complex at 320 Dixon Road and was a joint effort among 17 police agencies across Ontario.
