CALGARY – Hold onto your hat! A group of storm chasers and meteorologists will be heading to Calgary this summer to host a series of tornado tours.

Extreme Tornado Tours offers ‘tornado chasing vacations’ for those willing to pay a few thousand dollars.

There are three tours which depart from Calgary this summer, although two of them are already sold out.

Only one date still has spots open – departing in early July.

Tickets for the ten day tour cost $3,500 US, but include lodging and transportation.

The group’s decision to travel to Alberta makes sense, considering a wide stretch of the prairies is considered part of ‘Tornado Alley’.

On Wednesday, Environment Canada issued a tornado watch for Edmonton and the surrounding areas.
