A two-hour transit stoppage at Waterfront Station was eventually cleared after Metro Vancouver Transit Police determined a “suspicious package” found on a SkyTrain was not a threat.
Police units descended on the downtown transit station around 4:30 p.m.
Expo Line, Canada Line and SeaBus service was suspended at the station for over two hours as transit police investigated, with help from Vancouver police and K9 units.
Several officers could be seen surrounding and entering the station, while attendants held people back at the Compass gates.
Expo Line trains from King George Station were stopped at Burrard Station, while Canada Line trains were stopped at Olympic Station.
SeaBus sailings from Waterfront and Lonsdale Quay were suspended during the investigation.
Transit police said just before 7 p.m. that the package was not a threat, allowing service to resume.
No one is believed to have been detained or arrested.
