Southern Alberta pharmacist charged with theft of narcotics

A Lethbridge pharmacist is facing charges after narcotics were stolen from an area Safeway in May.

Police discovered missing drugs from the Safeway Pharmacy in the 2700 block of Fairway Plaza Road.

It’s alleged an employee working at the pharmacy created fraudulent computer records before stealing a quantity of Hydromorph Contin for personal consumption.

50-year-old Marvin Leonard Johnson has been charged with fraud under $5,000, forging a document, uttering a forged document, theft under $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 15th.
