EDMONTON – It’s not uncommon to see some strange ads on Kijiji; now, a recent real estate ad featuring a local school is among them.
Paul Kane High School, “featuring state-of-art technologies and a very peaceful neighborhood…might be just the right home you’ve been looking for,” the ad reads.
The price tag was originally $1.2 million, but on Thursday, it doubled to $2.4 million.
Included in the deal are all sorts of amenities, ranging from “gigantic kitchens..party-sized dance floor, gymnasium with work-out room, and a private cosmetology lab.”

Staff are being thrown in as well to sweeten the offer.
“Unfortunately, we cannot include the cafeteria staff members and custodians because they don’t want to clean up after you,” reads the post.
Students are included, though.
“Built for optimal performance, they will meet your every need with obedient and (occasionally reliable) fast service, may it be a haircut, furniture repair, drama performance, and/or a basketball game,” the ad says. “Should you make this purchase, your future troubles will dissolve in an instant (although we can’t promise you that on your mortgage).”
The school’s principal, Duncan Knoll, has a feeling grade 12 students wanting to go out with a bang are behind the prank.
“Creative, talented students. It’s a very impressive entry,” he says. “I think it was in good fun and I see the humour in that.”
To date, the ad has been viewed nearly 5,000 times. The principal says he’s in the process of getting it taken down, though.
A Kijiji ad was also posted for Bellerose High School. The asking price for that St. Albert High School was only $870,000.
