Edmonton – Three people have been taken to hospital after a head-on collision on Highway 63.
The two vehicle crash happened at around 5:00 Wednesday morning near Boyle.
According to Boyle RCMP, a Kia was heading north when the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, crossed the centre line and hit a Volkswagen that had two people inside.
The occupants of the Volkswagen were taken by ambulance to a hospital in the area. RCMP haven’t revealed their condition.
The driver of the Kia suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was flown to an Edmonton hospital by STARS air ambulance.
An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist is helping to determine the cause of the collision.
Investigators say driver fatigue or distracted driving are possible causes. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.
The Boyle RCMP says traffic on Highway 63 was not affected by the collision.
