Fireworks and First Nations drummers mark the opening of The Bow

CALGARY – The tallest building west of Toronto is now open.

Ceremonies are being held on Tuesday to mark the official opening of The Bow tower in downtown Calgary.

The newest addition to the city’s skyline has actually been finished for a few months, and Cenovus and Encana employees moved in last summer.

Standing 58 storeys tall, The Bow is the tallest officer tower in Calgary. It contains 53 office floors and two retails floors.

The building also features three sky gardens for employees.

Opening ceremony celebrations include First Nations drummers, speeches from City of Calgary officials and even the lighting of fireworks at 2 p.m.

Construction The Bow began in June 2007.
