1 dead after serious 2-vehicle crash in York Region

York Regional Police say a man is dead and another is injured after a serious crash on the border of Markham and Whitchurch-Stouffville Saturday evening.

Police said officers received a call shortly after 6:30 p.m. for reports of a crash in the area of York Durham Line and 19th Avenue.

Investigators said two vehicles collided in the area and a 53-year-old man from Ajax was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition, where he later died.

A 63-year-old man from Whitchurch-Stouffville suffered minor injuries.

Police continue to investigate and are appealing for witnesses of the crash to come forward.
