According to the Lethbridge Publc School board parents of the students attending Lehthbridge Christian school believe their kids are at risk.” I think the issue is the school is in line with the direction of the bullets being fired,” says Mich Forster with the Public School Board. “They are fired towards the east. Even though the Fish and Game association does everything in their power to make sure everything is safe there has been several incidents.”

School District 51 is now hoping these concerns will encourage City council to relocated the range.”We simply asked the city council to work with the Fish and Game association to work on closing the range as soon as possible,”adds Forster.
Tt was this past February when a stray bullet hit the roof of a north side home on 13th street north. The homeowners heard a bang and found a hole in their ceiling and a bullet on the floor and earlier this month a stray bullet was found in a soccer field at the Lethbridge Christian school. The source of that bullet was not determined.”It could have come from the range in Billy’s pocket and then he dropped it on the playground is a much more likely situation,” says Allan Friesen with the Lethbridge Fish and Game Association.
Officials from the Lethbridge shooting range say the option of moving at this point is not financially feasible with a price tag as high as 18 million dollars.
