Crews rescue 3 people from Regent Park fire

TORONTO – Fire crews rescued three people from a fire at an apartment building in Regent Park.

Fire crews responded at approximately 11 a.m. to the apartment building on Oak Street near River Street.

Fire crews say the 2-alarm fire started in a 4th floor apartment.

Crews rescued three people from the fire. Two of the people rescued were treated for smoke inhalation.

Animal Services has also been called in to help with some displaced animals.

Traffic in the area could be slow for several hours due to the increased presence of police and fire crews.
