Recall: Vega Sport Protein Bars

OTTAWA – Some Vega Sport Protein Bars are being pulled from stores because they contain milk that is not declared on the label.

The recall affects Vega’s 60 gram natural plant-based chocolate coconut protein bars with a Nov. 19 best before date (upc 8 38766 10830 8).

The bars were sold across Canada and so far one allergic reaction has been reported.

The product poses a a serious, and in some cases life-threatening, risk to people with milk allergies.

The distributor, Sequel Naturals Ltd., of Burnaby, B.C., has recalled the affected product and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is monitoring the situation.
