Guide to Thailand
I just returned from an incredible trip to Thailand so thought that I would focus on a destination for a change instead of my usual travel tips. Let’s start with some general information…
Thailand attracts more visitors than any other country in South East Asia and it’s no wonder with its irresistible natural beauty, temples, delicious cuisine and friendly people. People go to Thailand for many reasons –incredible shopping bargains, experience local customs, or to simply relax on the beautiful beaches.
Whether it is adventure or relaxation you seek, Thailand is a great vacation destination. The best time to visit most of Thailand is between November and February it tends to rain less then and doesn’t get too hot. You will want to spend two weeks or longer in Thailand to make it worth your while and it’s a great idea to see more than one city, so flying into one place and leaving from another is a smart way to plan your stay.
Where to Go
Get breaking National news
Bangkok – is a fast paced city and no visit would be complete without a ride on a Tuk-Tuk a Thai version of a rickshaw – a fun way to get around, but negotiate a flat fee before you get in.
Pattaya – is a cheap and cheerful beach destination, with a great nightlife.
Phuket – Thailand’s largest and most popular beach destination, so lounging on the beach here and soaking up the tropical beauty is a definite must.
Ko Samui – is another amazing beach destination and cosmopolitan melting pot.
What to Do
Get a massage on the beach – it’s heaven! And it’s under $20 for a full hour.
Have custom clothing made. Now, this is a great tip that you may not have thought of but guys get a custom suit or tuxedo made. You can do it for less than 100 bucks! Same goes for you ladies. Bring an item of clothing you love and have it recreated for next to nothing!
One thing you’ll definitely enjoy is the delicious and inexpensive Thai food. It feels like each dish is more delicious than the last, but watch out for the spice if you’re not a fan.
If you are planning a trip to Thailand I really recommend booking a package vacation that includes air, accommodation & transfers. It will likely be a better value. Cathay Pacific was a dream to fly with and I highly recommend them for your flights to Asia. Their onboard service and airport lounges are top notch.
So there you have it, vacationing to Thailand in a nutshell. It’s a great spot and I definitely recommend seeing it.
