Westbound lanes of Edmonton’s Fox Drive reopen after crash involving motorcycle

Police are investigating after a motorcycle was involved in a collision at Fox Drive and Belgravia Road on Wednesday.

Shortly after 6 p.m., police issued a news release to say officers had closed the westbound lanes of Fox Drive because of the investigation into what happened.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area as police said they expect it would be “some time” until the lanes are reopened. The road was completely reopened shortly before 7 p.m.

According to police, officers were called to the collision at 2:55 p.m. Originally, police said a motorcycle and another vehicle were involved in the crash, but police later said only a motorcycle was involved.

“It was reported to police that a motorcycle travelling eastbound on Fox Drive struck the meridian and landed in the westbound lanes,” police said in a news release.

Police said a 46-year-old man who was riding the motorcycle was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
