CALGARY – The Calgary Stampede has unveiled a brand new midway attraction which will be featured at the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth this year.
Organizers say the Bell aqua ranch will be a pool the size of a hockey rink with fountains shooting over 20 meters high. The waterway will serve as a playground for jet skiers, who will show off stunts during the H2X Extreme Watershow.
The pool will be used for a water show in the evenings, called Out of the Blue, which will be synchronized with Grandstand Show fireworks.
Meanwhile, Stampede officials have also announced a brand new ride.
The ‘Mach 3’ has two sets of seats mounted back-to-back on each end of a 37-metre arm. Each arm can swing a full 360 degrees.
“The arm will rotate up to 13 revolutions per minute, producing an acceleration of 3.5g on the riders,” says midway operations manager James Radke.
The Stampede will unveil the Coca-Cola Stage lineup on Thursday.
