Man sought by police after alleged interaction with child in Vaughan

TORONTO – Police in York Region are searching for a man after what may have been an attempted abduction at Vaughan Mills Park.

At approximately 10 a.m. Monday morning, police say a man believed to be between 25- and 30-years-old may have attempted to abduct a 2-year-old child.

Vaughan Mills Park is near Rutherford Road and Clarence Avenue in the city of Vaughan.

The man was last seen running westbound on Avdell Avenue.

However police revised their information on Monday afternoon saying the attempted abduction “may not have occurred.”

York Regional Police now say that there may have been an “interaction” between a man and a 2-year-old child while in Vaughan Mills Park.

The man is described as white, thin and wearing a white t-shirt with dark shiny track pants, police say.
