The K9 unit was deployed and RCMP were worried that additional people outside would make it harder for the police dog to do its job because of the additional human scents.

RCMP said a 24-year-old man from Edmonton was arrested and is in custody with charges pending.

Anyone who has information about the crime is asked to call RCMP at 780-997-7900 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Bruderheim is about 62 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
