MONTREAL – The MUHC construction site at the Glen Yards was closed Friday because of a bomb scare.
SNC Lavalin, the construction company in charge of building the new superhospital for the McGill University Hospital Centre, took a call shortly after 6 a.m., warning there was a bomb on the site.
“At this point we are on the scene and the construction site has been evacuated,” Constable Rafaël Bergeron, a Montreal police spokesperson confirmed.
Police are presently searching the site for a suspicious package.
“We have strong information that leads us to believe that it could be false alarm, but we must ensure the safety of the people on the site.”
The all-clear was given after 1:30 p.m.
