SASKATOON – It’s another sign spring is finally here – residential street sweeping has started in Saskatoon.
Crews will be busy over the next eight weeks clearing thousands of tonnes of sand and debris from over 1,125 kilometres of roadway in the city.
Sweepers will be out seven days a week to clean residential streets.

Residents will be given advance notice through door hangers of sweeping happening in each neighbourhood and parked vehicles should be removed from streets between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the date noted on the hanger.
In specific areas with congested parking like City Park, no parking signs will be posted and vehicles may be ticketed and towed.

New hangers will be placed if weather delays sweeping in a neighbourhood.
Sweeping of priority streets started last month and will continue through the summer.
Cleaning city streets prevents material from entering the city’s storm sewer system, reduces dust and makers streets safer for cyclists, motorists and pedestrians.
