REGINA – Rising flood water is threatening one of the busiest highways in Saskatchewan.

Water is nearing the bottom of the bridge on Highway 11 at the bottom of the Lumsden Valley north of Regina.

Jim Hipkin, reeve of the Rural Municipality of Lumsden, says if the water continues to rise, it will likely flow over the road.

He says no homes have been flooded and dikes and berms surrounding the town of Lumsden are holding, but some rural roads are being washed away.
