UPDATE: Cyclist in life threatening condition following morning crash

Edmonton – Police were called to north Edmonton Friday morning after a collision involving a vehicle and bicycle.

The crash happened on 127 Street and 107 Avenue at around 7 a.m.

Police say a man in his 50’s was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

Traffic investigators are on scene trying to determine how the collision happened.

The westbound lanes at 107 Avenue and 126 Street are closed. The right lane eastbound is open.

According to the City of Edmonton, all westbound lanes will be closed until 4 p.m. 

The southbound and northbound lanes in the intersection at 127 Street are shut down.

The city is recommending drivers, including those using 107 Avenue as a detour route from Stony Plain Road, use 102 Avenue, 111 Avenue or 118 Avenue instead.
